Close Encounters of My Third Child

My wonderful, sweet daughter ~ she’s been in my life for 3 years now and she continues to amaze me. She loves horses, dolphins, piano-playing and her favorite colors are pink, yellow, and purple. She adores her 2 older brothers, who dote on her. She’s taught me so much and also helped me unlearn so much. She’s taught me about what’s important and what to let go. She’s taught me more about going with the flow. She’s also given me courage and helped me embrace myself in a whole new way.

Did I mention that she hasn’t been born yet? She’ll be here in approximately 2-3 more weeks and I can’t wait to hold this amazing being in my arms and look into her eyes (that are either going to be blue, green, or a combination of both).

Perhaps you’re wondering how I know so much about her since she’s still gestating. It’s simple ~ she told me.

My self-named daughter, Lilah Skye, has been coming to me since my second son, Roan, was 4 months old. She comes to me in intuitions and visions, but mostly she comes to me in dreams. It’s been like this with all my children ~ they come to me in dreams telling me what gender they are, what they look like, and what their names are. And perhaps because I was so open to this type of communication with my first two children, Lilah decided to tell me a little more about herself ~ which I have enjoyed thoroughly.

At nine months pregnant, you can imagine how many people have asked me if I know what I’m having. From the very beginning I’ve always said “it’s a girl” and it’s always assumed that this was confirmed by ultrasound. When I tell them otherwise, some are skeptical (just goes to show that it’s normal to trust machines before trusting intuition).

So I started elaborating my response, telling them about my prebirth dreams with my boys and how those turned out to be accurate ~ and surprisingly, this was always met with surprise and excitement. It engaged me in conversation and I always left these conversations pleased that I was planting the seeds of pre-birth communication.

“What if she turns out to be a boy?” I’ve also been asked many times. Frankly, I can’t even entertain the thought, it just doesn’t feel right ~ and this makes a lot of people uncomfortable. They’re uncomfortable with my certainty thinking that I’m setting myself for a major disappointment because I “want a girl so badly”. But the truth is I don’t want a girl so badly, I want Lilah~who has been coming to me for over 3 years now and feel I already have a relationship with.

Are there times I’m uncertain? Sure, but those moments don’t last very long. I look at my 2 boys and all that they’ve taught me ~ and that is to trust my intuition and to trust my children.

I believe in you, Lilah Skye, and I can’t wait to meet you very, very soon.

  1. That’s amazing! Your blog brings to mind a very good friend. She is an extremely talented artist, and I used to always describe her as being an old soul…a beautiful soul, that is. Anyway, she has two little girls, and during her pregnancies, she often communicated with them. I am on my 3rd pregnancy and I still haven’t had such encounters, but that probably has something to do with my personality. It is interesting because she claims that the names were inspired through these communications, just as yours have been. Her second daughter is Lighlah, by the way, but I can’t remember her second name. Her first daughter’s name is Evie Vespera.

I wish you the best as you conclude this miraculous journey and enter into a new one with your precious Lilah Skye.

  2. Kate I love this! Before Lillian was born (on May 25th of this year), I had two vivid dreams about what she would look like. Brown hair, brown eyes and the spitting image of her dad. That’s EXACTLY what she looks like!

BTW – I love the name Lilah Skye, it’s beautiful.

    • Michelle ~ that is amazing and wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing. (BTW, I saw a pic of you and Lillian on FB and you look so happy and radiant ~ what a lucky baby you have there!)

  3. I also saw exactly how my second son would look in a dream communication with him, I dreamt how the birth would go and he told me his name at the time.

    Beautiful, heartfelt post Kate.

We can’t wait to meet you Lilah Skye

  4. I’m teary reading this Kate! I admit that I am pretty sure I’ve had some communication with my future daughter, but I have resistance to her, in that I don’t want to give the impression that I am ready to welcome another child in my life. Maybe that is something I need to be more open to communicating. And like many others who are uncertain that you may be disappointed, I think I am also uneasy about being certain of this daughter, unsure of whether or not it IS just my desire for a daughter, but I feel her presence nonetheless…and yet don’t want to set myself up for disappointment. During my first two pregnancies, I’m not sure if there were any clear communications, but I do remember with my 2nd I was hoping for a girl and really had no clue whether or not it would be a girl or boy, and it was a boy…so I guess that explains a little of my uncertainty. Your experiences are truly inspiring though, and I’d love to get a copy of your CD one of these days. I love you Kate!

    • Shell, if I’ve learned anything it’s: what you yearn for always yearns for you. I’m sure there is some mutual love going on here between you and your future daughter. And frankly, I look forward to learning more about her! 😉

  5. I was always very connected to the messages of my dreams and all my 3 kids, came to me in dreams before I conceived them and during pregnancy.
My oldest one , he is 20 years old now, said to me his name Idan, that means in hebrew “age”, he means to me the starting of my path of awakening, he is “the new age”. I remember vivid dreams with him, seeing his face and touching his soft body.
My second one my daughter Luana, she is 8years old, I invited her spirit to come, I meditated under my olive tree and I heard the song of her soul, I taught the song to my beloved and we made love singing her song. After a couple of weeks of pregnancy she told me in a dream the words for her soul song. She told me so many things in the dream world , about her name Luana that is a brazilian name , that means the moon, she is “my first moon”. She showed her face in details her eyes, her energy, she told me about her free spirit, her love to nature and animals, her love to dance, and during labor I had visions about her past lifes. I taught her song to my midwife and to all my soul sisters. During my home water birth all my tribe was singing her song. When I saw her face , that eyes looking at me for the first time we knew that we knew each other for a long time.
My little one Michael, is 4 years old now , we just immigrated to the USA, he came to me in a vivid dream and announced that he will come soon and he told his name. I meditated and heard his song and we did the same as Luana and the words came later when i woke up from a dream . He came in my dreams and I saw his beautiful face, his body and his big eyes.I had dreams about his water birth. Michael has the same name as my grandpa that left this world when I was a kid and my grandpa came to me after birth and told me that he is always protecting him.Michael has the same energy that I remember from my grandpa .
I believe that our children are our spirit guides and we can learn from them so much about the source. We all can experience pre-birth communication if you open up yourself to listen, use your intention, when you are pregnant is a great opportunity, you are an open channel to the creation!!!
    Love you,
    Marcia,

Kate, you are always amazing me and I can see how much in common we have. Love you soul sister, and waiting to see you Lilah!!!
